Welcome to the NVC web site!
Compassionate Communication is also known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC). NVC offers us a way to connect with others and with ourselves in order to joyfully recognize and meet universal needs we all share. NVC helps us to surpass years of personal conditioning and millennia of societal conditioning in which verbal and physical violence has often been the only accepted way to get needs met. It allows us to recognize that at the base of every interaction, whether that interaction is an internal dialogue or an exchange between people, groups, cultures or nations, is a desire to meet a need. NVC is being used worldwide in a variety of settings: in prisons, schools, families, warring countries, mediation hearings, businesses.(Roxanne Manning)
