Welcome to the RSC Online Course!
This course contains all you need to know about RSC. So that you can use it effectively in your life, it also gives you work to do in the form of exercises. RSC is a participant sport and while you can get a lot out of just reading about it, to get the most benefit, you will need to practice. The exercises are one facet of that practice and will teach you the skills so that you can apply RSC to your own issues using the situations in the exercises as guides.
I'm going to stress the importance of practice until you're sick of it but think: would you expect to become an expert tennis player or violinist from just reading books about tennis or violin playing? I think you immediately realize how silly it would be to expect that - it takes practice to develop a physical skill. But RSC is about retraining your brain to think more rationally. That takes practice just as does tennis, so the exercises and other suggested activities are an essential part of the course and your learning.
I will provide suggested "solutions" for the exercises but I have one STRONG request of you: please do not, repeat DO NOT, look at the solutions to the exercises unless you have made a good faith effort to WRITE solutions of your own first. You may wish to just read through the course first and look at the exercises to see what it's all about. That's fine, but then you might decide to dig in and actually do the course as it's intended, which includes working on the exercises. Then, if you have already glanced at the sample solutions, the value of the exercises for your learning will be dramatically reduced. So resist the urge to peek ahead.
Ok, let's get started with the core of RSC: the anatomy of a human emotion.
